Wedding of Caroline and Jamie

Sunday 23^rd May at Ansty Hall, Near Coventry www.anstyhall.co.uk

Caroline and Jamie’s Wedding day- it was gonna be Hot!! Suncream at the ready, we left quite early to arrive at the Hotel for Caroline’s preparations – On arrival, things were all very calm, soft music playing, the brides hair almost done, and make-up in progress. No sign of any nerves yet, Hannah, the Bridesmaid, made sure that everything was running smoothly. Capturing the beautifully lit room, details and atmosphere were key. There was a slight knock at the door – It was Caroline’s mum, I could sense there was something wrong. She was feeling very unwell, which of course, worried Caroline. Along with Hannah, the hairstylist, we tried to ensure everything was fine and not to worry – the last thing a bride needs to hear, there is a problem 1 hour before she is due to be married. Caroline looked absolutely stunning – 15 minutes before she was due to be married, her father entered the room – then there were tears! Emotions were running high, disappointment that mum was not going to be able to attend the ceremony, and excitement to be getting married.

The ceremony did take place at 12.30, the Groom, Jamie waiting patiently for his Bride to enter the room – All went off perfectly-

And continued to do so throughout the afternoon – Fantastic photographic opportunities, using the bright sunshine to our advantage, and choosing the shady areas to do the family shots.

The wedding breakfast took place inside, Caroline had designed and made her own table centerpieces, and put hours into organizing the beautiful details. Everyone enjoyed the speeches and then tucked into a delicious three-course meal.

With the afternoon sunshine getting hotter and hotter, we found shade! It was about 6pm before the sun starting to drop and fantastic long shadows meant we had to ask if we could ‘borrow’ the bride and groom for 10 minutes for some more portraits – Definitely worth it! The evening continued to be relaxed and fun, with garden games and cricket being enjoyed by many.

We were really sorry that Linda was unable to be there, but we hope Linda, that we have taken plenty of beautiful pictures so you can see that your beautiful daughter had a wonderful day….

Friday 14^th May, Wedding of Megan and Tony,

At Blessed Sacrement Catholic church, Braunstone, Leicester followed by Reception at Sketchley Grange Hotel, Burbage, Near Hinckley, Leicestershire.

We were really looking forward to this wedding, the couple looked great, and very happy, which is always a good start! We arrived at the church for the 11am bright and early along with the guests and groomsmen, and the “Ghostbusters” themed car! WOW! But where was the bride? 11.30am came and went, clocks ticking, 11.45, oh dear, still no sign of the bride and her maids. 11.55 she arrived, phew, a little late, but looking amazing and excited. A beautiful ceremony took place, and Megan had the giggles throughout! After the church, we planned to take the couple along with the bridal party to a nearby park with a Graffiti Wall – stunning, really different and creative shots. Then, even better, Megan and Tony had arranged for us to go to Kirby Muxloe Castle for some special portraits – WOW WOW, so excited, got some award winners here I reckon!

The day continued to be fun and relaxed, concluding with some family pictures, and dancing. Well and truly a good job done! Congratulations to Megan and Tony – You were Great! Enjoy all the pics and thanks for giving us the chance to be creative xx

The wedding of Andrew and Collette, April 24th, Shearsby Bath

Another sunny day! We are certainly lucky with the weather lately - A beautiful day, lovely venue, only 20minutes from our home, yet we have never been to Shearsby Bath before - Ideal setting, surroundings and marquee, and very helpful staff - which certainly helps our job no end. Walking down the Aisle, Collette's nerves set, as too be expected of course, she got a little jittery and emotional - but as soon as the main part was over - she was beaming! I recognised that "I've got my man at last" face...champagne flowing, canapes enjoyed, we were off to do the portraits - one of our favourite parts of any wedding - To see the couple so in love and to have 10 minutes on there own, is a precious time. As well as the usual shots with the vintage car, confetti, gardens etc...we were drawn inside - the restaurant/bar area was crying out for artistic shots - shiny surfaces, wicked artwork on the walls, grand piano - we always are on the look out for different! this is what sets us apart from the 'ordinary' - These shots ooze style - As well as enjoying the portraits, we got stuck in with the family and friends groups, bringing along our step ladder, to make sure we could get above all the faces to do the big group shot of everyone - always a winner! Whilst all the wedding party and guests entered the marquee for the wedding breakfast, it was our time to chill for an hour or so, and grab a drink or two, whilst we waited for the speeches - which i have to say, were funny and emotional too, so ticking all the boxes....well done everyone. Time to party...An additional 130 guests were expected to join the party later on in the evening - and what a party it was! A complete surprise to most, was the arrival of "NAVI" - a tribute to Michael Jackson - Now, this guy was absolutely amazing - he did the most fantastic show, along with a couple of dancers, were brilliant - We were chatting to him earlier in the day, and he was telling us all about how he worked as a decoy for MJ for twenty years, been on GMTV, worked internationally as this Tribute act...What a treat for the guests, only sorry we had to leave early on, to pick our son up from Grandma's! We would have loved to stay to watch it all, but check him out www.kingofpop.co.uk - It was a real pleasure to chat with Navi, and we were delighted to watch your show!

Back at Coombe! Can’t keep away!

We have been looking forward to this wedding as they were having a Medieval Banquet, something we don’t get to see very often. The day began so sunny, and continued to be sunny all day. Rebecca (the Bride) Rebecca (Bridesmaid 1) and Rebecca (Bridesmaid 2)! All got ready in the Lindley Suite at Coombe along with both mum’s – (who were fantastic I hasten to add!), in a room we are very familiar with, the lighting certainly a challenge! With the exposure changing for every single shot taken! Ian spent the morning with the guys, who I believe, went to the Pub! We hooked up with Stuart Kettell, who was filming their day, www.kettellvideo.com - Stuart has just completed his “Mad fool challenge” and still was recovering www.willthemadfoolmakeit.co.uk - so well done mate.

This was our first visit to the Church at Monks Kirby, a beautiful little village just 5 miles from Coombe. Beautiful church, beautiful photography, not much else to say really… Infact, the whole day was completely fantastic! Not just from our photographic point of view, but the guests and the couple where having a wonderful time – we were delighted to share the celebrations with them.

The medieval Banquet and entertainment was a complete surprise for the majority of the guests, and was hilarious – but before all that, some of the best wedding speeches we have ever witnessed! Fantastic all of you! Brilliant!

Suneet & Armadip's Seikh Wedding and Celebrations.

The Seikh Wedding Ceremony of Suneet and Aman followed by Celebrations on Easter Sunday 4^th April

We took a break from our Easter holidays to photograph the final and largest part of Suneet and Armadip’s Wedding Celebrations.

The day began for us bright and early at 8am at Suneet’s Parents home in Oadby, Leicester with a few shots of family arriving, then we went off to the Gurdwara Temple in Leicester, where we awaited the arrival of the Groom’s side. The Bride’s Family welcomed Aman’s family; then breakfast took place. Again, lots of fun and jostling took place. The ceremony in the temple did allow for some creative pictures and many family groups…to be expected. This all followed by a delicious lunch, and a little opportunity to grab a moment or two with the couple…on completing this part of the day, we returned to Suneet’s parents house, to await the arrival of Aman and his family – This is where he has to buy his way into the house to pay the Brides family to take her away! I thought it was hilarious when the girls brought out a credit card machine! Way to go! They must have come to some arrangement, because he got in and took her away! – Quite an emotional part of the day for all of Suneet’s family, and we were glad to capture these emotions for them.

We all then went to Princethorpe – in between Coventry and Rugby, www.woodhousehotel.com for the Wedding reception and celebrations – which were held at the Woodhouse hotel, in a huge Marquee – 500+guests to cater for!

What a wonderful sight – Everybody was having a great time, the Bride and Groom made a magnificent entrance in their newly changed outfits, and the party begun! Lots and Lots of dancing, music, and delicious food – What a wonderful job we do have!

In our opinion, the beauty of taking pictures at Indian Weddings,

is photographing the whole day without “setting – up shots” – so capturing the exact moment as it happens in a natural way. Only too often you see lots of ‘other’ photographic companies that are still living in the past who insist on setting up group shot after group shot – for us, having the ability to offer the modern and fresh approach to our modern and young couples, well…goes without saying, got to be better!...See for yourselves, a small selection of Suneet and Aman’s Wedding Pictures. The Wedding of Laura and Jamie took place on 6th March 2010, at Coombe Abbey, one of our Favourite Venues in our area. The Wedding Planner, Jo, did them proud!

A magical day, and the biggest wedding dress we have ever seen!

The day began with a few nerves at the preparations, as too be expected, the whole wedding party looked fantastic! especially the three very cute flower girls - The Abbeygate, was beautifully decorated by Michelle Lines, flowers by Michelle.

The candles really made the atmosphere truly romantic - a perfect setting. Likewise, Jamie's Nephew, sung a solo during the ceremony, which was extra special and memorable for all.

- The guests enjoyed champagne and canapes in the court house, and were entertained by a characaturist.

The sun shone, which for this time of year, is a real bonus to get lots of pictures outside in March - we spent a good half an hour with Laura and Jamie, around the Abbey - far too many beautiful spots - we are really spoilt for choice here.

The couple joined the rest of the party in the high Court, for their wedding breakfast and celebrations, and partied on into the early hours......

thank you to all concerned for all your efforts in making this a really fantastic wedding day for Laura and Jamie, and we wish them all the happiness in the world

Saturday 27th February 2010, we attended the wedding of Simon Johnson and Rachel Carter, at Fawsley Hall Hotel and Spa near Daventry

Jo started bright and early with Rachel at Fawsley, where she met some of Rachel's family in the Bridal Suite, including Mum Anthea, Bridesmaids Tracey, Jo, Monica, Hannah, Bryony and the very pretty and cute flowergirl, Penny(Rachel's niece). They were all enjoying themselves and being pampered with hair and make-up, Champagne and flowers (sent to Rachel, by Simon), beautiful red dresses, shoes and matching accessories - According to Simon during his speech, Rachel Loves to shop - which Bride doesn't!!

Ian went over to Cranfield where Simon and his best man, James (Rachel's Brother) were getting ready - not at all nervous, a Champagne helicopter flight to look forward too. Some great pics with the Helicopter guys!

Jo was awaiting Simon and James' Arrival - the blew away the cobwebs (and the hairdo!), but got some great shots of them arriving, so it was worth it. Funny thing was, whilst Jo was waiting for the said helicopter to arrive, three others flew very nearby all within 15 minutes! what was going on in Northamptonshire that day! You wait ages for one, then all three at once.....We were pleased to see the sunshine - well at certain parts of the day anyway, and managed to get some outside shots done of the family and Portraits of the happy couple. This was our fifth visit to Fawsley Hall over the years, but the first time in Knightly Court - Very very beautifully decorated - newly built, done very well in-keeping with the main part of the house, maintaining its luxurious surroundings throughout, with state of the art equipment. Impressive and attentive staff aswell. The time keeping and service couldn't be faulted. The wedding breakfast room looked stunning, very atmospheric and comfortable.

The couple very kindly offered to feed us a meal of fish and chips! Excellent! So we tucked into our lunch in the bar area, very good fish n chips it was too, whilst listening to music played by The Pet Shop Boys! You may think, and odd choice for wedding music, we did too, until we discovered that Simon is a huge fan (probably their biggest!), and now, luckily, is Rachel! 5 hours of The Pet Shop Boys! and you can guess what their first dance was too? Well, each to their own! We joined the wedding reception for the long awaited speeches - very good, we find anticipating the laughter quite an art now!

The band for the evening were called the Jazz Dynamo's (no pet shop boys here!)- a fantastic mixture of music for everyone to enjoy - Rachel and Simon had been practising their special first dance, which everyone enjoyed watching and were impressed by. Rachel especially looked like she was so enjoying the dancing, it was great to watch everyone and capture every moment. Finished off the day with Fireworks and a hog roast - stunning, cold outside, but worth it - mmm crackling.......

It was good too meet with Richard, the guy who filmed the day - nice to work with you Richard, and we hope to see you again at another wedding one day. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our day photographing their special day, got some fantastic pictures as usual; can't wait to do the edit and album design. It's great being a wedding photographer - It's not just about taking beautiful pictures - It's all about meeting some wonderful people and and being part of their special day; It's a job we never take for granted and love very much. We know you will love our photography, so here's a few sneaky one's to give you all an idea. Thank you to all of Rachel and Simon's family who made us both feel very welcome, and for looking after us on the day - much appreciated everyone, and of course it goes without saying - to the new Mr and Mrs Johnson, we wish you a very long and happy married life together forever....x you were great!

First Wedding of the Year!

Part one, Civil Ceremony of Suneet and Amardip

February 6^th 2010

We were delighted to be chosen to photograph the wedding celebrations of Suneet Johal and Amardip Hayer, -Part one of these massive celebrations was held on Saturday 6^th February at the Empire Banqueting Suite, Belgrave Gate, Leicester.

What a surprise inside – This beautiful old church building, with it’s high ceilings, Arches, Grandeur and space, made for this type of occasion, was perfectly decorated by the family – though cold and wet outside, we managed to get some beautiful bride and groom portraits at the family home, in Oadby, and again, later on in the evening.

Thanks to all involved, for the delicious food and hospitality shown to us, we very much look forward to the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and mainly the 4^th of April, where the big Indian Wedding Event takes place.

Keep on smiling Aman, you both looked gorgeous!

We've had a fantastic Christmas break, very relaxing, although along with everyone else, eaten far too much!

We had the pleasure of attending two wonderful weddings over the festive period, and I've added a few photos below.

We're very much looking forward to a very busy year, and hope to hear from old and new customers alike throughout 2010.

The Wedding of Helen & Barry, 18th December 2009.

It was a beautiful crisp December day, with a light flurry of snow greeting the guests and Helen as she entered the Church, St. Chad's in Bishops Tachbrook.

The warm welcome guests received at Coombe Abbey was wonderful, the Abbey was decked out in Christmas decorations, and the icy outlook made it look very warm and welcoming.

Thanks once again go to Jo and John from Coombe, who as ever were very welcoming and friendly hosts.

Helen braved the chill for a few photographs around the abbey, before the guests settled down for their wedding breakfast in the Cloisters.

We'd like to congratulate Helen & Barry on their marriage, and offer them all our very best wishes for the future.

The Marriage of Sarah & Mark at the Belmont Hotel Leicester, 30th December 2009.

The Belmont Hotel was a fabulous venue for Sarah & Marks wedding. The location is wonderful, right on New Walk, (for those who don't know their way around Leicester, this is a beautiful tree lined pathway that winds it's way into town) and offers fantastic opportunities for photographs, even when wet and dark!

The marriage ceremony was beautiful, and for once the registrars allowed me to take pictures throughout, no flash and very unobtrusive of course.

We then braved the rain and popped outside for a few photographs with Sarah & Mark, before they rejoined their friends and relatives for the celebrations.

We'd like to wish Sarah & Mark and their two children all the happiness in the world for their future together.

“A very Successful weekend for Ian Pickering – from Storybook Weddings.

After being awarded Midlands Wedding Photographer of the year, at the prestigious Annual Master Photographers Association Presentation Dinner, in Newcastle on Sunday Evening 11^th October.

Ian and his wife Jo, went along to collect his trophy, and to be surprised that he won Second Place overall – Nationwide for this Category, and much sought after title.

Not only that, Ian was Awarded UK’s Commercial Photographer of the year 2009. Securing him at the very highest level in his profession.

He is now truly at the top of his profession.

To book this highly skilled and much sought after professional photographer, and to avoid disappointment, we do advise you to please hurry to secure your date, as we foresee that 2010’s wedding dates will fill up very quickly now.

Saturday 10th October, Wedding of Ali & Sophie

We started the day bright and early with a drive down to Southwold Beach, where we met the guys for some pre-wedding pictures on the beech - we don't often get the opportunity to photograph near the sea, so we made the most of it!

The wedding was taking place at a venue we have never been to before, so we made our way over to have a good look around the grounds before meeting up with the bride, Sophie and her bridesmaids.

Woodhall Manor is a beautiful Elizabethan House, which has been done to a very high spec. the staff were very helpful.

Sophie and the girls we re getting ready in the most gorgeous bedroom - the Silver Bridal suite, we really had to feature that bed!

The day continued to be perfect, the weather was amazing, considering it's October, the guests spent two hours throughout the drinks reception outside in the sunshine. We spent a good half hour with Ali and Sophie, photographing around the stunning grounds, the trees beginning to drop the leaves and change colour - Fantastic, that combined with the sunlight! - We are so lucky......

It was also good to meet Dave, the guy who was hosting the evenings entertainment with some stomping tunes. We believe, an hour after we left, Alastair was taking over the DJ'ing for an hour or so - Enjoyed your wedding guys, good luck with everything and we wish you every happiness....Ian and Jo x

The Greek Wedding Celebration of Mario and Maria, on Sunday 20th September, reception at the Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.

Wow, what a day, our legs are still aching!.....A full on, busy, hectic but fantastic day. Thank you to all the families involved, for making us feel welcome. Maria was so excited, it was a pleasure to be part of their special day. The chosen colour theme for the day, was yellow and black. The bridesmaids looked fabulous in their yellow dresses trimmed with black, and black patent high heels. It was a real sunny day, which made for some fantastic pictures. We took the couple to Brindley Place, in central Birmingham, for some portraits - Wow. Stunning, what more can we say...

It was great, as always, to work alongside Andy Louca of Zeus Films -

At the motorcycle Museum, the function room looked amazing, the flowers made a real impact. I have never seen so many yellow roses! The room was set out for at least 500 guests, possibly more, and the Band, Connexions, kept everyone entertained throughout the evening. As always, we were blown away by the money dance! It really must be seen to be believed! Good luck and all our very best wishes to Maria and Mario, have a wonderful honeymoon, we can't wait to show you the wonderful pictures form your big day. Emma and Jamie, Orton Hall, Nr. Peterborough, Sunday 30th August 2009

A fantastic day for all, it was a real pleasure to meet the families of Emma and Jamie, and we want to Thank them all for their hospitality and making us fell so very welcome. Again, we were blessed by the weather, a few clouds in the sky and good breeze, but no rain, well not until later - by then it didn't matter anyway.

This was our first visit to that part of the country and Orton Hall. Only an hour or so away from home, it quite surprising that after nearly 10 years in the business of weddings, we have never been asked before to travel to Peterborough!

We were impressed with the beautiful building/conservatory and Great Hall, where the wedding breakfast was held - and this was down to the fantastic decoration and flowers - They were incredible - we have never seen such beautiful floral creations. They were created by www.byappointmentonlydesign.com, again, only in Lincolnshire, and we have never come across these guys before - well impressed! You really can tell they love what they do, it was a pleasure to meet them, and hope to again soon. Likewise, Katie from www.couture-cakes.co.uk, absolutely fantastic! Her cake creation was a real centrepiece and talking point, we were dying to try a bit, but unfortunately, it hadn't been put out by the time we left at 9.45pm! So we left with out some - booooo! All the very best To Emma and Jamie, hope you enjoy Hawaii......

Laura and Matt, Coombe Abbey, Saturday 29th August 2009

The weather was perfect for us, though a bit windy, we took some great pictures as usual throughout the Abbey. We photograph weddings at Coombe Abbey fairly regularly, but without fail, we always come up with new locations for portraits.

Laura and Matt were great, they enjoyed walking around the Abbey with us, creating some wonderful images. Stunning flowers were created by Michelle Lines, as always. We want to say a huge Thank you to John Woodford, the Master of Ceremonies, for making our job run smoothly, and Jo Evans, the wedding Co-ordinator, well, for being Jo. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail is second to none. This morning, Laura and Matt will be flying off to The Seychelles for a well earned rest - Enjoy it guys, and if you get a sneaky chance, here are few pictures of your special day....

Ian has won the Mario Acerboni Wedding Portfolio Competition for the Midlands region. Ian has won this for the fifth time now, and we have a great collection of plates to prove it! This Portfolio will go through to the final judging, and winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 11^th October – Watch this space……

Welcome to our first blog on our wonderful new website - Thank you for reading.

We are currently in the midst of our very busy wedding season, and are really enjoying every single one....

We are going to be adding pictures and descriptions of all the wonderful weddings we are currently attending. Lets begin with last weekend...14th and 15th August.

Jemima and Phil, Notley Abbey, 14th August 2009.

We spent Friday at Notley Abbey, near Aylesbury in Oxfordshire at the very special wedding of Jemima Fitzgerald and Phil Morris - WOW, WOW, WOW.... What a stunning location, this was our first visit to Notley Abbey, we believe it is a fairly new venue, and absolutely perfect. The staff were excellent and happy to help. The couple both got ready there, along with close family and friends. Jemima and Phil got married outside, in the very romantic gardens; the day continued to be romantic and fun celebrations with some stunning opportunities for beautiful photography. We got on very well with the videographers, Mark Shipperley of Spinning Wheel productions, they worked in a similar and creative way as us. It was a truly beautiful and fun wedding day, and we were delighted to be chosen as their photographers.

We're very much looking forward to designing their Queensberry Albums, and wish Phil and Jemima all the happiness in the world in their future lives together. We understand they will be travelling the world and starting their own photographic business in new Zealand - so good luck guys, all the best x

Leigh and Chris, Belvoir Castle, August 15th 2009

A Fantastic Day, and the sun shone for most of the day. This was our second visit to Belvoir Castle, we were there a good 7 years ago for a Winter wedding. This was something very different being summer. It was a super day, the bride, Leigh, was dressed in a beautiful and very elegant gown, with a choice of Gina and Christian Laboutin Shoes (she had a bit of a shoe fettish). Every detail had been very well thought about, and we were very impressed with Helen, the wedding co-ordinator, and Harvey, the Master of Ceremonies. For us, it was a real pleasure to be there. From the bridal preparations in the Kings Rooms, the civil ceremony, the drinks reception in the delightful Rose Garden with background music supplied by the string Quartet, Arioso, it was truly a perfect setting. The champagne was flowing, the guests, as you'd expect were having a great time. They had a blessing within the Castles Chapel, accompanied by a Gospel Choir - totally amazing - I had goosebumps! The reception continued with a sumptuous meal and yet more champagne, and some of the best and most entertaining speeches we'd heard for a while! the evening continued with yet more music by a steel band, a disco, a hog roast, and to finish off, the most Magnificent musical firework display we have ever seen!
